Peter will be giving the keynote presentation at a one-day conference jointly organized by the Leir Foundation and YAI. The conference, “Breaking the Silence with Music in Autism Spectrum Disorders” is at the Leir Retreat Center, Inc., 220 Branchville Rd, Ridgefield, CT 06877, October 1, 2015.
This full day conference, designed for caregivers, family members, educators, and therapists will show why and how music can enhance the lives of those with autism and demonstrate basic skills and techniques for doing so.
The conference will feature presentations by Dr. Muir and Dr. Susan Carpenter of the City University of New York and include a 45 minute concert by his students with autism.

Peter will be a presenting on using music to enhance the lives of people with autism at the 2015 annual conference of the Mid-Hudson Coalition on September 24, 2015, in Poughkeepsie, NY. This will be the third time he has presented there on music and disability. For conference details, see here.

Peter has been named as the recipient of the 2015 Dutchess County Executive’s Arts in Education Award. The annual award acknowledges an educator, who, “through extraordinary vision and leadership, has expanded or enriched arts education opportunities to students in Dutchess County.” This is truly an honor!
